The Pharmaceutical Society of New Zealand Delivers Learning to Pharmacists and Technicians Across the Country

The Pharmaceutical Society of New Zealand is a membership-based professional body representing pharmacists and technicians nationwide. With regulatory pressure from the Pharmacy Council to include online learning and a concurrent overhaul of its IT systems, PSNZ needed a scalable LMS to deliver pre-registration intern training, recertification and continuing professional development to a geographically dispersed audience.

Working with Totara Partner Synapsys, PSNZ implemented Totara Learn integrated with its new CRM for single sign-on and automatic enrolment, used Audience Management to automate programme assignment, and converted legacy content into modular courses with webinars and practice-review quizzes. Since launching a pilot in December 2015 and the intern programme in February 2016, more than 100 courses have been added, administration has been streamlined, reporting and assessment capabilities improved, and the Society now has a flexible platform to expand sponsorship, regional activity and future learning initiatives.
