A Totara Case Study
The European Copper Institute (ECI) is an international non‑profit that promotes copper applications across sectors like energy, building and health. Facing the high cost and limited reach of in‑person seminars (up to €10,000 per event and typically 50–100 attendees), ECI needed a scalable, cost‑effective way to deliver technical content to a much larger, geographically dispersed audience.
ECI partnered with Totara reseller Vision by Deloitte to implement Totara Learn, centralising nearly 200 learning units into themed “academies,” simplifying access and enrolment, and introducing badges and certification. By December 2015 the platform grew to 16,000 unique users and 37,000 sessions (up from 2,000/5,000 in 2013), boosting ECI’s reputation, institutional partnerships and position as an e‑learning pioneer in the energy sector while setting the stage for deeper engagement and advanced reporting.
