The Center for Creative Leadership (CCL) is a top-ranked global provider of leadership development that faced a fragmented learning ecosystem: multiple course repositories and Totara instances created inconsistent experiences for learners and administrators, required multiple logins, and made integrations with CRM and other systems unreliable. CCL also wanted better engagement through gamification, more interactive and social learning activities, and a single-sign-on (SSO) solution for security and convenience.

BuildEmpire consolidated CCL’s systems into a single Totara instance—the CCL Leadership Accelerator—developing bespoke plugins for SSO (Grand Central/Auth0) and auto-enrolment that integrate with Microsoft Service Bus and CCL’s CRM, and extending grouping, gamification (Impact Points, Skills Tracker) and interactive features (takeaways, messaging, video highlights). The unified platform reduced costs and admin time, improved security and user convenience, drove strong learner uptake in the first month and increased cohort registrations, and earned positive feedback from CCL staff.
