Tata Chemicals Europe achieved a 46% increase in learner engagement with Enovation and Totara

Tata Chemicals Europe (TCE) is a UK-based manufacturer of sodium carbonate and related products whose Northwich plant requires strict, well-managed training for compliance and operations. Before working with Enovation, TCE relied on time-consuming, face-to-face group training that created heavy administrative overheads, shift disruption, overtime costs and, amid a major restructure and budget cuts, an urgent need for a more efficient, cost-effective learning solution.

Enovation implemented a cloud-hosted learning portal—initially Moodle and later upgraded to Totara Learn as the “My Development Hub”—integrated with TCE’s intranet and performance workflows to streamline compliance, onboarding and personal development. The portal boosted learner engagement by 46%, nearly trebled training hours per employee, cut the training budget by two thirds, and raised L&D scores in the annual engagement survey from 31% to 77%, while reducing administration and encouraging self-directed, more engaging learning.
