Case Study: Subaru Canada achieves a unified learning platform and streamlined training monitoring with Totara

A Totara Case Study

Preview of the Subaru Canada Case Study

Subaru Canada Consolidated Two Platforms Into One for Easier Monitoring of Learning

Subaru Canada, which sells vehicles, parts and accessories through 94 dealerships, faced fragmented training systems across Sales and Aftersales: separate LMSs, Flash-only courses that required Internet Explorer, Excel-based reporting, and paper/video training that was hard to monitor, certify and keep compliant. The company also needed Single Sign-On, accurate in-course time reporting for regional regulations, and to overcome internal concerns about security, accessibility and implementation.

Subaru consolidated both functions into one cloud LMS using Totara Learn, creating two “campuses” with robust permissions, SSO, Zoola analytics for time reporting, bilingual HTML blocks and embedded video to replace Flash, hierarchical reporting, audience visibility and conditional learning paths. The move simplified administration and compliance, boosted enrollment and completion rates, cut e-learning costs by eliminating two systems and on-prem hosting, shortened troubleshooting from weeks to hours, and eliminated LMS downtime.
