Shimano Provide Flexible Product Knowledge to Europe-wide Independent Retailer Network

Shimano, the Netherlands-based arm of the Japanese manufacturer of high-quality bicycle components, needed a way to deliver up-to-date product knowledge and certification to Europe-wide independent bike mechanics who aren’t Shimano employees. Physical brochures went out of date quickly and central HR couldn’t manage training for a dispersed, multilingual audience, so Shimano sought a flexible, low-overhead solution to support thousands of service-centre technicians across multiple countries and languages.

Neo built a custom Totara LMS with a polished learner experience, audience-driven recommendations, multilingual notifications, and portable Open Badges; learners create profiles and access 160+ programs and 250+ courses in 13 languages. Moving management to country level reduced administrative complexity and gave Shimano full visibility—to date the platform has delivered around 170,000 course completions, 5,000+ badges awarded, and an easy-to-use, integrated learning hub.
