Plessey, a UK advanced manufacturing company working on microLED display solutions, needed a better way to manage business-critical training in a clean-room environment. Working with Totara and partner Cortexa, they wanted to replace spreadsheets and database-based tracking with a scalable digital learning platform that could also support wider staff development and reporting.

Totara, implemented through Cortexa, provided a Totara LMS with a bridge to sync existing records overnight, user imports, and access to 400+ bite-sized courses. The rollout quickly gained traction: within eight weeks, over 50% of the workforce had logged in, and more than 800 micro-courses were completed. Plessey also launched badge achievements to boost engagement, with Totara supporting plans for compliance training, inductions, and future internal courses.
