Nursing Times Learning uses Totara Learn to help provide safer, higher-quality care for patients

Nursing Times, the largest nursing website in Europe and a leading source of clinical news, research and training for nurses and midwives, faced a new regulatory challenge when the Nursing and Midwifery Council introduced mandatory revalidation from April 2016. With over 25,000 readers and thousands of articles, Nursing Times needed a way to help professionals meet strict revalidation requirements — including practice hours, CPD, feedback and written reflections — while allowing managers to verify compliance efficiently.

In August 2015 Nursing Times launched Nursing Times Learning using Totara Learn and Adapt with Learning Pool, offering an online learning passport, expert-written courses and a manager dashboard to record and report CPD and revalidation activities. Thousands of nurses have since logged CPD through the platform, reporting time savings and improved efficiency, with organizations praising the integrated “all‑in‑one” system for supporting staff development and confidence.
