NPS Group, a network of public-sector-owned companies, set out to modernize its learning and development by giving employees control of their own development and introducing blended, accessible learning. Their Talent Team needed a user-friendly system to replace a data-focused HR platform, improve inductions and appraisals, and provide managers with meaningful reporting — particularly to address low on-time appraisal completion (64% previously).
Partnering with Learning Pool, NPS launched Learning Hive (Totara Learn), a cross-device LMS with integrated online appraisals, reporting and professional forums. The solution delivered rapid gains: on-time appraisal completions rose from 64% to 100%, users reported high satisfaction (94% found the appraisal system easy to use), appraisal workflows became faster and more insightful, and inductions and training booking are being streamlined into a single, tailored platform.
