MPC, a global visual‑effects and production company with offices in nine locations, struggled with scattered, mostly in‑person and intranet‑based training that didn’t deliver consistent, scalable learning for proprietary technical skills. The organisation needed a robust LMS with a user‑friendly local install, easy editing, comprehensive reporting, HR import/export, automated enrolment and the ability to group courses into programs.

MPC chose Totara Learn and engaged partner HowToMoodle to implement a custom dark/light theme, provide onsite administrator and course‑creator training, and run a Jan–Jun 2016 pilot. Totara’s reporting, HR integration and automated enrolment met requirements, user feedback was positive and the system proved far better organised than the old intranet; MPC planned a full global rollout in June 2016 and expansion of new‑hire training across 20+ departments, expecting faster onboarding and strong ROI.
