Case Study: Mountain Healthcare saves administrative time and centralises training with Totara Learn

A Totara Case Study

Preview of the Mountain Healthcare Case Study

Mountain Healthcare's online course booking system saves time for managers and learners alike

Mountain Healthcare is a UK provider of sexual assault referral services and police custodial healthcare that relied on Microsoft files and face-to-face sessions to manage governance and compliance training. That manual, time-consuming approach made accurate monitoring difficult and struggled to cope with rapid growth (sometimes up to 50%), dispersed staff, and no dedicated education team—creating a need for a centralised system to handle inductions, statutory re‑certifications and continuing professional development.

The organisation implemented Totara Learn with support from Totara partner HowToMoodle, using managed hosting, configuration workshops and pilot tests to onboard staff and managers. Key features deployed include certifications, seminar management, induction programs, open badges and enhanced reporting; the platform now supports over 300 geographically dispersed learners, centralises bookings and attendance, and has delivered significant administrative time savings while enabling continued rollout of management training, automation and appraisal workflows.
