Monash Health Saves Lives by Quickly Rolling Out Learning to Thousands of Healthcare and Aged Care Workers

Monash Health, Victoria’s largest public health service serving one-quarter of Melbourne’s population, faced a critical challenge during the state’s second COVID‑19 wave: rapidly preventing spread into residential aged care. Working with the Victorian DHHS and the Federal Department of Health, they needed to replicate and extend their existing PPE digital training to an additional 70,000 residential care workers, ensuring device-agnostic access, reporting, certification and fast deployment under intense time pressure.

Kineo fast-tracked a planned six‑week Totara Learn implementation into five days, delivering a customised, Kineo Edition LMS with tailored registration forms, learning content (including PPE donning/doffing and hand hygiene videos), first‑level support, hosting and ongoing maintenance. The platform now supports up to 70,000 learners, has been accessed by over 500 residential care sites and achieved more than 7,500 PPE course completions to date, enabling rapid upskilling, robust reporting and improved infection‑control practices across the state.
