The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP) faced a rapidly evolving COVID-19 crisis across a distributed workforce spanning 17+ hospitals and 71+ clinics. The organization needed to keep staff updated with changing clinical guidance, rapidly reskill clinicians for respiratory care and telemedicine, and expand frontline capacity by training community volunteers and overseas medical scholars to support care remotely.

MOHAP’s Training & Development Center centralized efforts on Maharati, a highly customized Totara-based LMS, to deliver up-to-date knowledge, build internal instructional design capacity, run a national blended volunteer program, and train remote medical scholars for telemedicine support. Outcomes included >75% employee usage of the COVID-19 knowledge page (217,000+ views), 345,000 contact hours of training, 100+ new e-learning courses, ~200 live/live-online/simulation sessions, and about 500 trained volunteers.
