Mercury Engineering Reduced The Administrative Overhead for its Certification Process

Mercury Engineering is a Dublin‑headquartered international engineering firm with a large workforce across more than 10 countries delivering complex projects in hyperscale and enterprise data centres, healthcare, life sciences, semiconductors, fire protection and building services. The company needed a better way to manage numerous mandatory skills and EHS certifications: reduce the administrative overhead of tracking renewals, ensure employees stayed certified for their roles, give EHS officers visibility of expiries and compliance, and create a single, accessible system of record while increasing uptake of online training to lower costs.

In 2016 Mercury engaged Enovation to implement Totara Learn, piloting before a full rollout. The platform gives employees an immediate view of required learning, highlights completed/due/overdue certifications, enforces course completion sequencing, and provides extensive reporting for managers. The result was a significant reduction in certification administration while maintaining regulatory compliance, easier scaling and system integrations as the business grows, and adoption across Europe in multiple languages.
