learndirect responds to National Apprenticeship Reforms with a customised Totara Learn platform

learndirect, founded in 2000, is the UK’s largest provider of skills, training and employment services, supporting around 23,000 apprentices and 6,000 employers each year. Faced with the 2017 National Apprenticeship Reforms and an outdated, inflexible LMS, the organisation needed a scalable replacement on a tight deadline while using only limited internal resources.

Webanywhere implemented a customised Totara Learn 2.9 platform—complete with branded themes, role-based competencies, manager hierarchies, advanced reporting, CSV user/enrolment syncs, classroom booking and two programme setups—and managed development and content migration. Delivered in three months with minimal learndirect input, the project produced two new maths and English modules, migrated 1,500 learners across seven programmes with no disruption, and cost no more than one month of the previous service.
