Leading UK specialist medical society transforms digital learning for its members

The British Society for Rheumatology needed a more flexible, cost-effective digital learning platform to replace its custom WordPress-based system, which was difficult to update, lacked ownership, and relied on third-party support. To meet the needs of its clinical members and growing education program, the society chose Totara Learn from Totara, implemented with support from Think Learning.

Totara delivered a swift LMS implementation that brought learning in-house, enabled easier course creation and learner pathways, supported virtual and blended training during COVID-19, and improved reporting and personalization. The results were strong: active usage nearly doubled, content was rated 4.8/5, and the project was delivered on time and within budget, with plans now underway for e-commerce and CRM integration.
