Komatsu Chile implements learning model

Komatsu Chile, part of global machinery leader Komatsu, needed a more effective way to build technical and functional skills across a large workforce and strengthen its position as a training leader. To do this, it adopted Totara Learn and Totara Perform, along with Totara Engage for its Corporate Academy, to manage courses, competencies, and development paths at scale.

Working with Totara partner Digital Learning, Komatsu implemented a competency-based learning model with reports, audiences, and 168 courses mapped to 407 competencies. The result was a more personalized and traceable training program that improved productivity, efficiency, and job satisfaction; in one business year, Komatsu trained 3,528 people, equal to 41% of its workforce.
