A Totara Case Study
Ingeus UK, a government‑commissioned provider supporting employment, health, qualifications, justice and youth services, needed to make its learning management system more engaging and people‑focused. Having outgrown a customised Moodle setup that was under‑used and mainly treated as a compliance tracker, the organisation wanted better reporting, dynamic rule‑based learning, clearer role for the LMS, and a simpler, more inviting user experience to drive regular personal development activity.
Working with Synergy Learning, Ingeus redesigned iLearn through staff focus groups, a refreshed look-and-feel, audience‑based dashboards, marketing spots, clearer categories and a collapsed‑topics course layout to simplify navigation and encourage exploration. The relaunch drove a sustained increase in engagement — average user logins rose by 200% over the year and login‑related service desk tickets fell from 26% to 5% — and enabled the rollout of new mandatory and development content as part of ongoing platform improvements.
