IFoA sparks innovation and learning through their revitalised learning platform

The Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA), the UK’s leading professional body for actuaries, needed a more flexible and modern learning platform to serve around 32,000 global members. Their previous systems lacked personalization, scalability, and the data insights needed to support diverse learners across different career stages and locations. Totara helped IFoA address these challenges with a more user-centric Virtual Learning Environment.

Working with Totara Learn and Kineo, IFoA launched a refreshed VLE with interactive learning, personalized pathways, better reporting, and integrations such as SSO, CRM, and Microsoft Teams. The new platform improved engagement and access to content, with user interaction rising 68% in one year; 70% of members rated it 5/5, and 86% rated search 4 or 5 out of 5. Totara also enabled IFoA to streamline administration and gain richer analytics to support ongoing learning improvements.
