University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust, one of the UK’s largest hospital providers, needed to restore and improve training compliance after COVID-19 disrupted its learning and education function. Although Totara LMS helped keep training running during the pandemic, leaders lacked an easy, visual way to review compliance data and quickly brief teams.
Totara worked with UHDB’s BI and HR Analytics teams to integrate Totara with Power BI and create intuitive training dashboards for mandatory and role-essential training. The result was faster, more reliable reporting with real-time data, improved compliance visibility, and a 4% increase in mandatory training compliance to 90.30% in the last 12 months. Totara has also helped deliver estimated total savings of £230,000, including over 10,000 training hours saved and around £100,000 in equivalent pay costs avoided.
