Hillyard, a leading U.S. manufacturer and distributor of cleaning and hygiene solutions for education, healthcare, building service contractors and industry, needed a more reliable, low-cost and highly customisable way to deliver safety and skills training to employees and partners. After relying on face-to-face training and unsuccessful LMS experiments, the company sought a blended learning platform that could reach the right audiences quickly and be tailored to different brands and partners.
Working with Totara Platinum Partner Synegen, Hillyard implemented a fully branded, multi‑tenant Totara Learn platform that supports blended learning, automated reminders, manager controls, self-service data imports and custom reporting. The move has standardised safety training, cut training costs by reducing in-person sessions, and sped up onboarding—Hillyard now has about 2,200 active users and adds roughly 170 new users each month—while improving engagement and visibility into learner progress.
