Hickey’s Pharmacies is an Irish community pharmacy group with 36 stores and over 350 employees. Facing more than 50 frequently changing SOPs, the business found classroom-based training costly, inconsistent and hard to track for regulatory compliance, so it sought a way to standardize learning, reduce overhead and ensure consistent outcomes across stores.

Working with Enovation to deploy Totara Learn, Hickey’s streamlined SOP distribution, introduced monthly certified training with automated reminders, synchronized learning with HR changes, and used hierarchical reporting to give managers visibility by company, region and store. The result was improved frontline knowledge and retention, better alignment of training with business KPIs, and plans to expand Totara’s use across their L&D programme.
