Halfords Group PLC, a long-established UK retailer operating around 780 stores and centres (including 460 retail locations and Autocentres) with thousands of employees, needed a consistent, structured way to assess and develop colleague capabilities across the business. Existing Totara Learn hosting and development were slow and costly, so Halfords selected Totara Learn and migrated their “Halfords HUB” to Totara partner Synergy Learning to improve reliability, speed up development and deliver a better learner experience.

Synergy Learning migrated and upgraded the HUB, provided large-scale managed hosting, licensing for up to 20,000 users, ongoing support and phased development (custom completion tracking, enhanced search, featured courses, appraisal notifications, seminar management, responsive design and planned gamification). The platform now supports 12,500 registered users, drove a 20% increase in learner engagement, improved retention and NPS, delivered company-wide compliance and reporting capabilities, and provided a secure, scalable LMS that contributes to stronger business performance.
