Grupo Planeta Increases Course Completion by a Third With Personalized Blended Programs

Grupo Planeta is a Spanish multimedia group of 9,000 employees operating across six business areas in 25 countries. Its direct sales division outgrew an internally built e-learning platform that lacked advanced audience management and the ability to mirror Grupo Planeta’s internal matrix structure, preventing managers from effectively monitoring and assigning targeted training.

Totara delivered a multi‑brand LMS with five environments, hierarchical user segmentation, manager dashboards, seminar management for blended learning, and integration of sales data to assign personalized training; the L&D team also adopted Articulate Storyline for more interactive content. Since April 2019 the platform has served 1,700 students with 9,470 enrollments and 35,000+ training hours, and average course completion rose from a previous maximum of 62% to 82% (often reaching 94%), supported by Actua Solutions’ ongoing training and platform support.
