Case Study: European Academy of Neurology achieves a seamless, engaging neurological learning platform with Totara

Gamification & contributor visualisation as key factors for EAN’s learning solution to become the go-to online resource for Neurological Education

The European Academy of Neurology (EAN), a non-profit medical society with more than 45,000 members, needed a customised digital learning platform that could become the go-to online resource for neurological education. Working with Totara and its LMS, EAN also wanted seamless integration with its member database and website, easy access for logged-in users, and a more engaging experience that supported individual learning paths.

Totara delivered eanCampus with REST API-based CRM data imports, SSO, navigation integration, flexible dashboards and permissions, and contributor profile pages linked to content. Totara also added gamification through badges and a Neurology-specific points system for CME credits. The results included more than 1,500 on-demand resources, over 500 feedback forms with 96% saying technical quality met or exceeded expectations, increased member growth in 2023, and significantly reduced administrative work for virtual events and certificate processing.
