FMCNA enjoys a smooth transition to a customised, certification-friendly Totara LMS

Fresenius Medical Care North America (FMCNA), a leading provider of dialysis and renal care with over 2,200 U.S. facilities, needed to replace an outdated, Flash-based LMS that was not iOS compatible and did not reflect their advanced clinical brand. They required an intuitive, certification-friendly portal that let busy clinicians access CE courses, articles and quick reference information without training, plus sophisticated reporting, scalability and flexibility for future features.

FMCNA partnered with MindQuest Learning to build a custom CMS front end powered by Totara Learn as the back-end LMS. The solution delivered a responsive, user-friendly interface, single sign‑on, custom profile fields and certificates, and robust standard and custom reporting—while preserving the benefits of open-source flexibility. MindQuest also migrated more than 20,000 legacy user records, completions and certificates, and the platform launched in December 2015 with 22 courses uploaded, producing a smooth transition and strong early results.
