FA supports the development of football through a seamlessly integrated education platform

FA Education, the learning and qualifications arm of The Football Association, needed to modernise tightly classroom-based training and replace unsupported legacy systems. Their brief required a cost-effective platform to support full blended programmes, automatic prerequisite checks, CRM and e-commerce integration across 52 County FAs with separate merchant IDs, simple administration, and printable certificates.

Kineo implemented Totara Learn, staying close to core code while adding plugins for cookie-based SSO, CRM sync and Barclays SmartPay e‑commerce, plus promotional and reporting extensions, and a large data import (275,000 users and 500,000 learning-history records). The result is a seamlessly integrated, maintainable platform that unlocked courses by attainment, delivered blended learning to around 10,000 learners (25,000 hours of CPD) in the first six months, and is now embedded in flagship programmes like the UEFA Pro Licence.
