Extra Stores Saves $600,000 a Year With a Comprehensive Training Solution

eXtra Stores, the largest electronics retailer in the Middle East with 3,000 employees across 47 stores in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Oman, faced inconsistent training for remote store teams and an Oracle LMS that wasn’t fit for purpose. The company needed to embed learning into its culture and tie training to performance, KPIs and bonuses, so it partnered with iLearn ME to implement Totara Learn.

Using Totara Learn, eXtra deployed a mix of SCORM e‑learning, checklists, assessments, coaching plans, classroom sessions and three content levels to engage all staff, while also managing KPIs and annual appraisals for everyone, including the CEO. The platform cut travel-related training costs by $600,000 a year, achieved 100% employee adoption (over 80% active users), recorded 22,000 hours of training, and delivered 99% KPI submission and 99.8% appraisal coverage, earning industry recognition for its L&D strategy.
