Edubreizh MOOC platform dedicated to learning the Breton language

EduBreizh is a mid-sized platform founded in 2011 to teach the Breton language. Facing 2,000 pre-registrations for a five-week facilitator-and-peer MOOC, the team needed an easy-to-access environment that could validate and track learner progress, support individual accounts and activity tracking, and foster weekly discussion and collaboration while minimizing administrative overhead.

EduBreizh customized Totara Learn with its branding, integrated MP4s, PDFs and SCORM quizzes, and built weekly modules (videos, exercises, reference cards, collaborative tasks and summative quizzes) plus mentoring via private messages and forums. Automated program management and in-platform collaboration increased engagement and reduced technical queries; results included >35% completion over five weeks, an average of two hours/week per learner, 5,000 total training hours, >90% satisfaction, a Prizioù 2015 award, and only 2% of tutor questions about technical issues.
