Cvs Group Tackled Diverse, Complex Training Needs for Veterinary Staff

CVS Group plc, the UK’s largest integrated veterinary services provider with 500+ surgeries across the UK, Ireland and the Netherlands, faced a complex training challenge: vets, nurses and supporting staff required widely different CPD, compliance, curriculum and placement learning paths. An outdated LMS made administration labour-intensive and limited the organisation’s ability to deliver modern, interactive learning at scale.

After evaluating options, CVS chose Totara Learn delivered by Hubken Group to centralise training administration, integrate with HR systems, enable SSO, manage renewable certifications, support blended learning bookings and enforce role-based permissions — while making content creation far easier. Launched at the end of 2019, the platform was rolled out across 500+ practices and drove big gains: course completions rose from 339 in 2019 to 22,566 in 2020, booking and approval processes were simplified, user experience improved and administrative overheads were significantly reduced.
