Compass Group Netherlands, part of the international catering company Compass Group, needed a more efficient way to train a large, changing workforce across four brands. Their existing LMS required manual reporting and course assignments, had no learning paths or manager hierarchy, and external e-learning development was slow and expensive — limiting flexibility and scalability for induction and role-specific training.
They chose Totara Learn implemented by The Courseware Company, which provided automated reports, HR imports, role-based learning paths, and the ability to add self-made e-learning (e.g., Articulate 360). Live since August 2017, the platform supports 15 role-specific programs, mobile access, faster content creation, lower induction and training costs, and gives employees ownership of their development while enabling plans to centralize certificates and assessments.
