Child Care Resource Center significantly reduces their reporting administrative workload

The Child Care Resource Center (CCRC) is a mid-sized nonprofit serving children, families and childcare providers since 1976, with a 750-strong workforce. Facing limited face-to-face training capacity (one person managing non-departmental training), long travel times for remote staff, and manual spreadsheet tracking for mandatory annual refreshers, CCRC needed an accessible, automated learning management solution to broaden training access and simplify compliance reporting.

CCRC selected open-source Totara Learn, implemented with partner eClass4Learning and integrated via API with Active Directory and UltiPro, then self-hosted to control costs. Totara replaced Eventbrite for seminar bookings and added SCORM e-learning, quizzes and certifications; launched May–June 2017, it has delivered 500+ ergonomics completions, 40 supervisor session completions and recent trainings to ~200 Head Start staff. Reporting is now automated, reducing administrative workload, and CCRC plans to scale to 1,000 employees and eventually offer content to parents and providers.
