Brunel Empowers Employee Autonomy With a Personalized Learning Experience

Brunel, a global project management, recruitment and consultancy agency with over 14,000 employees, has long prioritized training but relied mainly on classroom delivery. Facing inefficiencies in the logistics and administration of in-person courses and wanting to move preparatory content online, Brunel sought a digital learning approach to streamline processes and better retain and develop its experts.

Brunel deployed a custom Totara Learn-based LMS called BeSmart, giving employees personalized homepages with to‑do lists, easy course search and enrolment, and robust reporting for management. The platform empowered L&D teams to build programs themselves, improved reach and employee development, and—backed by a close partnership with The Courseware Company—has been expanded across the Netherlands with plans for wider global rollout.
