Bovemij Supports Self-directed, Continuous Development With Totara Learn

Bovemij is a Dutch finance and insurance company that expanded from B2B to consumer services and grew into a complex organisation with hundreds of job levels. After starting e‑learning on Moodle in 2009, they needed a scalable internal learning solution to train diverse roles across the business, manage compliance and support performance management—challenges made harder by an outdated LMS and a 378-level organisational structure.

Working with UPlearning, Bovemij implemented Totara Learn as “Bovemij Campus,” upgraded to Totara 12 and added custom themes, Lectora-based content, dashboards, targeting/cohorts and a digital performance toolbox. The platform now hosts 789 active users and 200+ courses, delivers onboarding, product and leadership training, and provides managers with actionable reports. A Studytube pilot (250 courses, 500 microlearning modules) is underway to boost self-directed development, with plans to roll out company-wide to drive engagement and continuous learning.
