Case Study: Berry Street builds a scalable, flexible learning hub and boosts learner engagement with Totara Learn

Berry Street supports a diverse learner audience with a flexible LMS that grows with their needs

Berry Street is an independent community service organisation in Victoria that supports vulnerable children, young people and families. They needed a more flexible learning ecosystem than their existing LMS—one that would integrate with growing HR and practice systems and serve a diverse learner audience (residential and home-based care workers, family violence and therapeutic staff, educators and corporate teams). After issuing a detailed RFQ to five vendors, Berry Street sought a solution that could deliver custom reporting, manager visibility, enrolment controls and face-to-face event management.

Working with Sprout Labs, Berry Street implemented Totara Learn, collaboratively designing and delivering a platform with analytics, customised learning programs, a centralised calendar for bookings, an intuitive course catalogue and mobile access; it also integrates with Okta/Active Directory. Launched in July 2017 with about 1,200 users, the system has increased learner engagement and a culture of learning across the organisation, and Berry Street plans to expand access to external audiences while continuing the successful partnership with Sprout Labs.
