Case Study: The Australian Sports Commission achieves connected learning and seamless integration with Totara

A Totara Case Study

Preview of the The Australian Sports Commission Case Study

Australian Sports Commission’s multitenant LMS supports 250,000 learners across Australia

The Australian Sports Commission needed to connect a highly fragmented sport technology ecosystem and reduce administrative overhead across its multitenant Australian Sport Learning Centre. Working with Totara Learn, the ASC sought to simplify learner access, sync learning data with membership systems, and control content access across 24 tenancies serving more than 125,000 active learners.

Totara helped implement single sign-on, automated completion data integration, and membership-based content restriction through a bespoke OAuth 2.0 layer, scheduled SFTP reporting, and API-driven cohort assignment. The solution has benefited nearly 18,000 volunteer learners and eight NSO/Ds so far, with more than 15,000 completions updated in membership systems and 10,000 audience assignments automated, while the ASLC grew from 250,000 to 430,000+ total learners and from 350 to 1,000+ courses.
