Arriva launches compliance learning hub to serve their diverse European workforce

Arriva, a leading passenger transport provider across Europe with more than 39,000 employees, needed a scalable way to deliver mandatory compliance training across 12 countries, multiple languages, and many job roles. The company had to ensure every new starter completed four required courses within four weeks, with annual refresher training, while maintaining high quality, consistency, and cost efficiency. Arriva implemented Totara Learn to help manage this complex compliance learning need.

Totara’s solution automated course assignments and reminders, supported multilingual learning, and integrated with Arriva’s management information systems to provide localized dashboards and auditable records. The result was stronger compliance, less admin time for managers, and major cost savings through automation. Since going live in 2018, the Totara-powered program has delivered 59,409 completions across the four compliance modules in 14 languages, and Arriva has continued expanding the approach through successive digital learning iterations.
