Aligning a Learning Ethos to the Vision of the Key Assets Organisation

Key Assets is a not-for-profit agency delivering foster care, family support and disability services across Australia and part of the Martin James Foundation. During an organisational restructure they needed a single, flexible LMS to serve 15 companies in 9 countries, give staff and foster carers access to inductions, role-based training and policy resources, and allow each company to administer its own users, courses and reporting while handling language and local differences.

Working with Kineo, Key Assets launched KARL — a branded, multi-tenant Totara Learn platform with phased rollouts, custom dashboards, search and integrated content via GO1. In 12 months KARL reached 962 staff and foster carers in Australia and New Zealand and has begun international tenancies; outcomes include a 60% rise in cultural competency compliance, a 30% gain in manager efficiency from online HR induction, cost savings from shared subscriptions, and a scalable, user-friendly system that supports continued innovation with a small e-learning team.
