3 is a leading global mobile operator (part of the 3 Group) operating in Sweden and across Europe. Facing high employee turnover and the need for faster onboarding, 3’s first LMS—branded as “Minerva”—proved outdated, not cloud‑based, unstable on Internet Explorer, and not optimized for mobile, making it costly to maintain and failing to reflect 3’s mobile‑first identity.

Working with Totara partner Xtractor, 3 replaced Minerva with a responsive, multi‑device Totara LMS rolled out in under a week. Launched in early 2015, the platform now hosts 65+ mostly in‑house courses with over 15,000 completions, provides learner analytics, supports media‑rich content (including short how‑to videos and badges) and an open‑source authoring tool (Adapt). A short daily practice program delivered via the LMS doubled sales performance (100% increase) in pilots, prompting a wider rollout.
