Puratos cuts packaging waste to under 0.3% with Tosca

Puratos, an international group providing food ingredients and services, faced the challenge of eliminating single-use packaging to meet its ambitious sustainability goals, which included becoming carbon neutral by 2025. To address this, they partnered with vendor Tosca to design a solution that would also improve operational efficiency and safety.

Tosca implemented its reusable pooled packaging solutions, including CR1 pallets, Superior Hybrid IBCs for liquids, and Magnum Optimum containers for dry bulk. This switch resulted in improved safety, reduced product damage, and supported aseptic filling. A Life Cycle Analysis confirmed the solution's significant positive impact, saving 87 MT of CO2 equivalent, 1,661 Gj of fossil fuels, and 31,461 M3 of water based on 2022 volumes.
