TRUMPF Maschinen Austria, a subsidiary of the TRUMPF Group and a center of competence for bending technology, faced the challenge of manufacturing large, precise machine frames up to 4.5 meters long with tolerances of just two hundredths of a millimeter. They required a highly accurate CAM solution to program their new 6-axis ELHA machining center for just-in-time production. TopSolid, through its partner TECHSOFT, provided the TopSolid'CAM software and support to meet these demanding framework conditions.

The solution involved creating a detailed virtual simulation of the machining process in TopSolid'CAM, including the complex simulation of multiple angle head changes, even before the physical machine was installed. The implementation resulted in run-in times being reduced by up to 50% and programming times being cut in half. TRUMPF employees reported that TopSolid'CAM's features, like machining duplication and automated error checking, were indispensable, saving significant time and ensuring precision in their three-shift operation.
