Rohde & Schwarz, an international electronics company specializing in test and measurement equipment, needed a highly reliable and integrated CAM solution. Their challenge was to replace an heterogeneous programming environment to handle complex parts from multiple CAD systems, improve process reliability with high-performance simulation to prevent collisions, and significantly reduce programming and machine running-in times. They selected the TopSolid CAD/CAM system from vendor Missler Software to address these needs.

The implemented TopSolid solution provided excellent interfaces for various CAD formats and powerful simulation and change-processing functions. This allowed Rohde & Schwarz to update NC programs efficiently after design changes and generate more reliable code. The results were substantial, with the vendor's solution leading to considerably shorter running-in times that significantly exceeded the target of a 20% reduction. TopSolid also contributed to reduced programming costs and helped avoid costly machining errors.
