TopSolid participates in creating the sets of a major French theatrical landscape

The National Theater of Strasbourg (TNS), a major French national theater, needed to transition from 2D AutoCAD design to a 3D CAD solution to address the complex challenges of designing sets that are mobile, safe, and budget-conscious. Their project manager, Christian Hugel, required tools for precise mass and center of gravity calculations, kinematic simulations, and improved visualization to ensure set elements could be assembled easily and function correctly before production.

The solution was TopSolid’s 3D CAD software. TopSolid provided installation, on-site and remote training, and a valuable hotline for support. This implementation allowed TNS to accurately model complex sets, verify kinematics to prevent collisions, and directly export files for manufacturing. The results included significant time savings in preparing files for laser cutting and bending, improved accuracy, and a much better understanding of projects for the workshop teams. Twelve sets have been successfully created using TopSolid since its implementation.
