KMB, a medium-sized Austrian manufacturing sub-contractor for the automobile industry, was using an outdated CAM solution that limited its machining capabilities. The solution provided comprehensive 3D and 5-axis simultaneous milling capabilities and integrated collision checking, which eliminated tool destruction. This allowed KMB’s programming speed to increase by a third. The implementation also drastically cut machine tooling times, saving an estimated 100 hours of machine downtime every six months, equating to approximately €7,000 in cost savings.
