A Toppan Merrill Case Study
A major health insurance plan faced significant challenges in efficiently producing its mandatory Annual Notice of Change (ANOC) and Evidence of Coverage (EOC) documents. These Medicare Advantage documents are required by CMS, and failure to produce them accurately and on time could result in fines and impact the insurer's ratings. To overcome this, the plan partnered with vendor Toppan Merrill.
Toppan Merrill implemented its Connect Dynamic Publishing solution for ANOC and EOC. This web-based platform combined CMS model language with the plan's data to generate documents in real time. The solution allowed for quick adaptation to annual changes and reduced the number of review cycles from six to three, cutting the process time so significantly that the review cycle began a month earlier. This efficiency led to cost savings of over $1 million for the health plan and provided complete confidence in the compliance and accuracy of the final documents.
