Czech Post, the largest postal services provider in the Czech Republic, needed a way to process up to 150,000,000 postal payment orders per year quickly and accurately while handling both handwritten and printed data. Working with Top Image Systems, they sought a solution that could deliver high-quality scanned images, support reliable character recognition, and reduce dependence on manual data entry.

Top Image Systems implemented its software platform across 7 regional processing centers with KODAK scanners, TIS processing and validation stations, and a custom workflow integrated to Czech Post’s database environment. The system’s voting algorithm and recognition engines improved handling of handwritten and machine-printed forms, boosted operator productivity, increased recognition accuracy, and reduced processing time even as the number of characters to be recognized grew by more than 100%.
