Carolina P&L Powers Up Tool Inventory Management With ToolWatch System—Emergency Response Time an Added Value

Duke Energy (then called Carolina Power & Light) needed a system to manage its inventory of over 5,000 tools. Their outdated program was unable to adequately control loss, theft, and damage or track equipment across various job sites. They sought a more flexible solution from a vendor and selected ToolWatch for its ToolWatch System.

ToolWatch implemented its system, which was managed by one employee at each of five repair locations. The solution allowed resource coordinators to monitor inventory, match tools to specific jobs, and control purchasing costs. Duke Energy praised ToolWatch's support and training, noting their employees were operational within two days. An added, significant result was a major improvement in the time it took to deploy critical emergency equipment during hurricane season.
