The Automated Sun & Shutter Specialists Tackle Complexity and Break Down Silos for Improved Operations, Higher Service Levels, and Substantial Business Benefits

Gaviota Simbac, a global leader in components and systems for rolling shutters and awnings, faced growing supply‑chain complexity from a 40,000‑item portfolio (9,000 active SKUs), 25 manufacturing divisions and 50 warehouses, plus strong seasonality and fragmented data that made forecasting and inventory management unreliable. To replace Excel‑based processes and break down silos, Gaviota Simbac turned to ToolsGroup and its Service Optimizer 99+ (SO99+) solution to deliver dynamic demand planning, inventory optimization and replenishment across the business.

ToolsGroup implemented SO99+ integrated with Microsoft Dynamics, enabling probabilistic forecasting, optimal safety stocks and shared data across departments; the project was completed in under four months. The result: service levels for top items rose from 70% to 95%, service across all products improved by 18 percentage points, stock levels fell by ~43% (from 61 to 35 days), and production performance improved by 37%, alongside marked gains in planner productivity, forecast reliability and cross‑department synchronization.
