Ferrari Consulting and Research Group authored a research advisory to help supply chain and business leaders understand Digitally Enabled Response Networks and to illustrate the real-world challenges of telecom retail fulfillment. The advisory, supported by ToolsGroup, examined a major UK carrier’s struggle with rapid SKU growth, siloed planning across 450 stores and online channels, frequent stock-outs, rising handset costs, and the need to move from manual or fragmented forecasting to a centralized, service-driven demand and replenishment model.
ToolsGroup provided its SO99+ end-to-end supply chain planning application and supported Demand and Supply Collaboration Hubs to centralize forecasting, daily SKU-level store forecasts, and multi-enterprise visibility. The ToolsGroup solution helped synchronize demand and supply, improving forecast accuracy by about 10%, raising warehouse availability to 97% and retail availability to 96%, increasing handset availability overall, and boosting retail productivity while avoiding large inventory increases.
