Automating Inventory Replenishment Delivers 75 Percent Planner Productivity Improvement

Rajapack, a branch of the RAJA Group in Italy, distributes more than 4,000 packaging and office-supply products to 70,000 customers with 24–48 hour delivery. Facing high SKU variability (seasonal and intermittent demand), limited warehouse capacity and excessive planner time spent on manual spreadsheet-based replenishment, Rajapack selected ToolsGroup’s Service Optimizer 99+ (SO99+) to improve forecasting, inventory visibility and replenishment automation.

ToolsGroup implemented SO99+ to automate demand planning, multi-echelon inventory optimization and replenishment—generating purchasing proposals, managing multi-supplier decisions and applying machine-learning forecasts. The solution delivered a 75% improvement in planner productivity, a 0.4% increase in service level to 98.92%, fewer seasonal stock-outs and a reduction in days of inventory outstanding from 76 to 69, freeing planners to focus on higher‑value activities.
